Air conditioners draws heat from the inside of the house and transfers cool air inside. The SEER rating (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) range from 13 to 23. The SEER rating is calculated by cooling output divided by total energy input in a given period. The higher the SEER rating the higher the efficiency rating. Air conditioners are available with single, two stage and variable speed compressors. Two stage and variable compressors are more efficient and run at a lower capacity during lower cooling demand periods
