Bri-Ton services and installs many makes and models of gas and propane furnaces.  Gas furnaces range in AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) from 80%- 97%.  The most new furnaces installed are 92% or higher in efficiency.

Furnaces are designed with Single stage, two stage and modulating gas valves.  Single stage furnaces heat at the full rate of combustion while operating.  Two stage furnaces have two levels of operation 1st stage and 2nd stage.  In first stage the furnace operates at a lower combustion rate using less fuel.  In milder temperatures 1st stage heating satisfies the heating demand.  In colder temperatures 2nd stage heating comes on after the 1st stage runs for a period of time without meeting the set temperature.Modulating furnaces operate and increase the level of combustion equal to the amount needed for optimal efficiency.

Air Handlers

Air handlers are used in conjunction with heat pump applications as an option other than a gas furnace.  Air handlers have an evaporator coil, fan blower and electric heat backup all in one unit.  Air handlers come with multi-speed blowers and varaible speed blowers for increased comfort.

Packaged Heat Pumps

Package units are desinged as a complete outdoor unit with both heating and cooling capability.  Pakckage unit rnage from 14 SEER to 16 SEER cooling and 8.0 – 8.5 HSPF rating.  The HSPF rating (Heating Seasonal Performance Factor) is the ratio of heat energy delivered to electrical energy supplied.  The higher the HSPF rating the higher the heating efficiency rating.  The higher the SEER rating the higher the cooling efficiency rating.
